Dispatcher

Position Overview

As a vital link for Transit To Care, the Dispatcher coordinates non-emergency medical transportation services for our patients and medical facilities. This role involves serving as a liaison between patients, medical facilities, company drivers, and staff. The Dispatcher plans and schedules driver routes, provides exceptional customer service for all incoming calls, and maintains consistent communication with drivers to ensure on-time service delivery, upholding Transit To Care's commitment and values.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identifies caller needs, locations, and transportation requirements to determine the appropriate response.
  • Receives incoming telephone calls regarding non-emergency transportation service.
  • Determines response requirements and relative priorities of situations, and dispatches units in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicates professionally and respectfully with other departments to facilitate efficient daily tasks and operations.
  • Assigns and confirms correct driver routing schedules within designated service areas. Accurately tracks and documents all overtime hours.
  • Monitors driver schedules to ensure compliance with company policy regarding an 8-hour shift and a one-hour meal break. Reports any missed meal breaks to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensures that ALL drivers in an 8 hour day take one hour meal break. Missed meal breaks are unacceptable and are to be reported to the Operations Manager.
  • Records details of calls, dispatches, and messages in the dispatch system.
  • Relays daily operational information and messages to drivers in the field.
  • Proactively contacts medical facilities to maximize scheduling and operational efficiency.
  • Utilizes maps and other applicable computer technology to promote the dispatch and call response process.
  • Maintains organized files and records for all dispatch and non-emergency calls.
  • Exercises sound judgment and makes decisions that impact driver productivity, workflow, and company results.
  • Prepares and completes reports as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initial and random drug screening.
  • Background Check.

Driver

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for transporting patients to and from their homes to various medical facilities. They will be responsible for vehicle inspection when not in transit, as well as completing patient run reports on a daily basis. There may be other duties as required for this position. This person will have regular motor vehicle report inquiries, background check, required trainingas and maintaining a current and valid driver's license.

Essential Job Functions
  • Show up to work in a timely manner.
  • Complete a vehicle maintenance and safety inspection prior to vehicle operation.
  • Communicate with Management/dispatch and get daily patient schedule
  • Drive clients to their destinations in a safe manner and on time.
  • Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle.
  • Report back to the dispatcher when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
  • Report traffic delays back to supervisor.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to company policies and protocol.
Job Requirements
  • Must have on hand excellent - CLEAN - driving record.
  • Must be at least 23 years old... Regular Drivers License is OK
  • A minimum of 3 years US driving experience.
  • Must PASS DOT Physical
  • Initial and random drug screening.
  • Must PASS Background Check.
