Dispatcher

The dispatcher provides a necessary service to the driver, medical facilities and patients in our industry. The dispatcher acts as an important liaison between the patients, medical facilities, company’s drivers and company staff. The dispatcher plans and schedules the driver’s routes and often answers the phone when a customer calls in for our services. Dispatchers stay in frequent contact with the drivers to ensure that we deliver on time service. The Dispatcher must treat callers with the highest level of customer service representing Transit To Care commitment and values.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identifies callers concerns to determine their locations, and the nature of their transportation needs to determine the type of response needed.
  • Receives incoming telephone calls regarding non-emergency transportation service.
  • Determines response requirements and relative priorities of situations, and dispatches units in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicates professional and respectfully with other departments to facilitate efficient daily task and operations.
  • Assigns and confirms all drivers routing schedules correct in the zoned areas.
  • Keep track of any/all overtime accurately with detail.
  • Ensures that ALL drivers in an 8 hour day take a 30 minute meal break. Missed meal breaks are unacceptable and are to be reported to the Operations Manager.
  • Record details of calls, dispatches, and messages in dispatch log.
  • Relay daily operations information along with messages to driver’s in the field requiring notification.
  • Contact industry care facilities when units are available to maximize service
  • Utilizes maps, GPS, and other applicable computer technology to promote the dispatch and call response process.
  • Maintain files and paperwork of information relating to dispatch and non-emergency calls.
  • The dispatcher must frequently make decisions that impact coworkers, workflow, and company results.
  • Prepare and complete reports as needed.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma/GE
  • Knowledge with current computer application.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initial and random drug screening.
  • Background Check.

Driver

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for transporting patients to and from their homes to various medical facilities. They will be responsible for vehicle inspection when not in transit, as well as completing patient run reports on a daily basis. There may be other duties as required for this position. This person will have regular motor vehicle report inquiries, background check, required trainingas and maintaining a current and valid driver's license.

Essential Job Functions
  • Show up to work in a timely manner.
  • Complete a vehicle maintenance and safety inspection prior to vehicle operation.
  • Communicate with Management/dispatch and get daily patient schedule
  • Drive clients to their destinations in a safe manner and on time.
  • Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle.
  • Report back to the dispatcher when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
  • Report traffic delays back to supervisor.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to company policies and protocol.
Job Requirements
  • Must have on hand excellent - CLEAN - driving record.
  • Must be at least 23 years old... Regular Drivers License is OK
  • A minimum of 3 years US driving experience.
  • Must PASS DOT Physical
  • Initial and random drug screening.
  • Must PASS Background Check.
